Welcome

Hi, I’m Jessica

I’m happy you’re here! I’m a mom, wife, sourdough baker, and founder of the Wheat Culture blog. I have a deep love for sourdough, and I’m here to share that passion with you. Follow along for tips, how-tos, recipes, and much more. When I’m not busy making sourdough, I love spending quality time with my family, photography, live music, and drinking too much coffee.

Where this all began

I’ve always loved food and the culture around it. For the past 10+ years, I’ve been working in food photography and recipe development and have had several small businesses (some food-related and some not!). I have dabbled in sourdough a couple of times over the years, but after losing my father last year, sourdough became my outlet to deal with the grief. He was a lifelong home chef and always had the Food Network on. I like to think that this is a way for him to live on through my passion for food. I started posting about it on social media and saw just how many people were interested in learning more about sourdough. That’s how this blog was born. I wanted to create a place to share recipes and teach people the ins and outs of sourdough. If you’re reading this, I’m so glad you’re here and I can’t wait to share so much more with you!
